![]() ![]() I'll post the rather indirect method I'm currently using as an answer tomorrow. In ArcGIS, textured 3D objects are stored as multipatch features. They are commonly used to add photo-realism to a 3D view. Examples of textured 3D objects include buildings, airplanes, street furniture, and vehicles. This will allow you to display resolution up to 2048 pixels provided your video card/driver can cope with it. Textured 3D objects are features that have both 3D geometry and image data for each displayed face. in the loss of a lot of the symbology and textures from an ArcGIS Pro model. Since SU 7 (7.1 I believe), there is a setting to 'use maximum texture size' under Window > Preferences > OpenGL settings. Esri CityEngine is 3D modeling software for quickly creating large urban. I would prefer an import converter that provides MMA with this import capability, but other routes are welcome too. SketchUp, by default, can only display image resolution up to 1024 pixels. My question is: How to convert SKP files in a clean polygon based structure in Mathematica? ArcGIS Plugin enables users to transfer the 3D model to an ArcGIS. The resulting XML tree is rather complex as is the definition of Collada and getting at the geometry of the object is far from trivial (I managed to coerce the coordinate set of a model from it). ability for SketchUp to read shapefiles and convert them into 3D models. DAE files are zipped Collada files and these can be read as XML by MMA's Import. Though MMA can read KMZ/KML files it doesn't read those containing 3D objects. Producing or revising a set of construction documents/blueprints. The models look fine in ArcScene the issue is only in the exported web scene. The models were made in Sketchup 8 and exported to COLLADA, then dropped in ArcScene. and open them in Sketchup maintaining their 3D features, however they lose their spatial reference. My services include: -Creating and rendering 3D models. A random sampling of buildings are missing textures. The free version of Sketchup doesn't export to any other formats than the KMZ (Google Earth) and DAE (Collada) formats. Export a Sketchup Model to ArcGISs Multipatch. meters, Feet and Inches, etc. The capability to import Sketchup's SKP files in Mathematica would be very nice, but alas, it doesn't do that yet. Open Google Sketchup® and choose a template that is in the same units as your projection in ArcScene (i.e. ![]() Many of the 3D buildings in Google Earth are made with Sketchup. Moreover Google has an enormous warehouse of 3D objects so that you actually don't have to do much modeling yourself if you aren't particularly gifted in this area. Google's Sketchup is a nice, simple 3D-object modeler. ![]()
